Mission Statement

Sidewalk Festival of Performing Arts is an celebration of performance and installation art that takes place on the street the Detroit neighborhood of Brightmoor/Old Redford. Art is the activator of street spaces: alleys, storefront, sidewalks, gardens, parks, parking lots, and more. The mission is to bring relevant works of art to unexpected places with the aim of cultivating culture and togetherness in the Detroit community.
The festival features both local and national artists with the focus mainly on local.
Sidewalk partners with residents and community development corporations to positively influence how residents view their communities, utilizing the arts as a vehicle to help active spaces, improving walkability, traffic, and economic growth. We believe art is transformative!
