Description
Make a Difference in Your Community!
The Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers may contribute from a few hours to over forty hours a week, serving through schools, hospitals, museums, police departments, senior centers and other nonprofit and public organizations to help meet critical community needs. The RSVP Staff provides one-on-one support for new Volunteers and Volunteers going on new assignments. An RSVP staff person explains the assignment requirements and accompanies the Volunteer to the Volunteer Station. After the interview with the Volunteer coordinator the volunteer must then decide if the assignment is right for them before they will be assigned. The Corpus Christi RSVP works with 38 different non-profit and public community agencies to offer Volunteers a wide range of opportunities to serve the community. RSVP staff helps Volunteers to match their personal interests and skills with the needs of local agencies to maximize the satisfaction and impact of each volunteer. Volunteers receive assignment specific training through their Volunteer Station. The Corpus Christi RSVP recognizes Volunteers several times each year through events like the Annual Recognition, the Holiday Dinner, tours to interesting destinations with opportunities for just plain fun. Become a part of the answer, meet interesting people, learn new skills and have a real good time while you're at it!
