Mission Statement

The Louisville Downtown Partnership's (LDP) mission is to improve the economy of Louisville Metro by coordinating an aggressive public/private program to promote the redevelopment, vitality and economic growth of the Central Business District and surrounding areas and to promote Downtown’s quality of life by creating a safer, cleaner and more enjoyable environment.

The Louisville Downtown Partnership was formed in 2013 and is comprised of two governmental entities: the Louisville Downtown Management District and the Louisville Downtown Development Corporation.

Description

As the official kick-off party to Idea Festival 2014 , NuLu is hosting a street festival celebrating the revitalization of Louisville’s East Market District. Come enjoy live music by Sonablast Records , micro-brewed beers by Louisville Beer Store , and numerous food and retail booths by local vendors. There will be activities for all ages. The event is free, family-friendly and open to the public. The East Market District , also referred to as NuLu, is now best known for its art galleries, unique specialty stores, antique shops and a growing number of upscale restaurants. The term "NuLu" is a portmanteau meaning "New Louisville". As home to two LEED certified commercial buildings, many historic restoration projects, as well as several restaurants offering organic and locally sourced ingredi ents, NuLu has emerged with a culture of sustainability.
