Description
The Schedel Arboretum & Gardens is a beautiful, serence and meitculously manicured 17 acre botanical gardens. The SA&G is home to many rare and unusual species of plants and boasts of tens of thousand of annuals each season.
The SA&G is open to the public from April 1 throught October 31 each year. Visistors marvel at the extensive bonsai collection, a grove of long thought extinct dawn redwood trees, the Japanese Garden with 20+ varieties of Japanese maple trees and a 30 foot waterfall, Rose Garden, Kitchen Garden, Tropical Garden and many more themed areas.
Many educational opportunities are available at the SA&G - including the annual summer Workshop Series and the Schedel Summer Science Camp for young people - all designed in accordance with our mission and encouraging an appreciation for nature and the arts.
The venue is quite popular for weddings, receptions, family reunions and business retreats and functions. The Brown Welcome Center is home to the McAlear Gallery of fine arts and the Veh Conference Center.
