Mission Statement

Central Coast Grown envisions a community where local food and farming enterprises are sustained, our food culture thrives, and the co-existence of food producion and education fosters a resilient local food system.

Description

Central Coast Grown advocates for local farms and fosters movement towards an economically viable, environmentally sound and socially responsible food system with Sa Luis Obispo County. Some out projects include;

City Farm-San Luis Obispo: This 20-acre farm in the heart of SLO provides support to new farming enterprises and educates the community on how food is grown. City Farm fosters community connections around local food and agriculture.

Food System Assessment: This assessment is a study of the profitability, equitability, resiliency and health of our current local food systems.

Public Land Survey: The survey identifies publically owned land in the county that is suitable for agricultural production. The land identified may be used for more community farms, using the City Farm as a model.
