Mission Statement

Redeem-Her successfully transitions women recently incarcerated to become valued and contributing members of society.

Redeem-Her, a non-profit agency founded and operated by formerly incarcerated women, provides a safe, sober, supportive environment that is enhanced by positive role models who meet the tangible needs of clients.

Redeem-Her employs a model emphasizing that positive opportunities can transform the lives of women to become responsible, generous members of society.

Description

What we do:

1. We change people's minds. Many of the barriers we face persist because society has misconceptions about women who are in prison. We are transparent in our communities, providing opportunities for open, honest dialogue about our lives and our prison experiences so that the community may learn we are only women who have only made mistakes, not so different than them.

2. Battle the environment of despair that has been created within the prison by "revolving door". We gather women who have succeeded after incarceration so that our sisters still behind the wall may see a vivid example that a productive life in the community is possible for them too.

3. Offer true help in real hope to re-entering women by meeting their tangible needs. We provide housing, clothing, food, transportation, job assistance and most important, support from women who have been there.
