Mission Statement

To provide a loving and unique housing community for young adults with physical and/or developmental disabilities that will enhance the quality of their lives.

Description

Glennwood Housing Foundation, Inc. (GHF) opened the doors to a 42-room, independent-living facility in Laguna Beach that has become home for up to 50 young adults with developmental disabilities. Located on a 30,000 square foot site with views of the Pacific Ocean, this facility accommodates state-of-the-art ADA and Community Care License (CCL#306004493) compliant living, dining, kitchen, recreational and social spaces.

For many of these remarkable young men and women, this is their first opportunity to fully realize personal growth as an adult. Under the guidance of 15 trained direct care staff, they receive support and encouragement to take steps towards assisted independence. They also have the opportunity to develop skills including self-care, meal planning, grocery shopping, money management and apartment housekeeping.

Glennwood is the most special and unique house in the world. The location is beautiful, the hard working diligent staff make this house comfortable for these most wonderful loving young adults. My daughter Samantha who gets to live at Glennwood, to have a home where she can be independent, safe, and develop loving lasting relationships. I would highly recommend anyone to volunteer and spend time with these adults. I do not spend enough time at Glennwood but when I do I leave feeling loved and I did something wonderful today. We need more homes like this around the country. Glennwood is truly the happiest place on earth!!
