San Mateo County Library - Belmont Library
Volunteers are members of a team that are dedicated to offering their skills, unique abilities and time without pay to the Belmont Library. Volunteers are rewarded by learning new skills that support public library services and by working with library staff and members of the community. Successful implementation of the volunteer program will bring rich benefits to the community, library employees, the Belmont Library and the volunteers themselves.
The Library's Mission is to provide excellent, innovative library services to our diverse communities. The library is committed to the involvement of volunteers in its operation to assist in promoting basic literacy, offering current materials of popular interest, and ensuring access to information in a variety of formats. Volunteers are an integral enhancement to library staff and work within the team concept to implement the mission and goals of the library. Volunteers provide a vital link between the library and the community by bringing valuable community and cultural input to library staff. Volunteers are advocates for the library that can raise awareness of library services and stimulate support for library programs in the community.
