Mission Statement

The Salvation Army is an evangelical part of the universal Christian church. Our message is based on the Bible. Our ministry is motivated by the love of God. Our mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and meet human needs in His name without discrimination.

We believe you must meet an individuals basic needs before you can meet their spiritual needs, and have been providing service to Wake County since 1887. We provide food for the hungry, companionship to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless, opportunities for underprivileged children, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, and many more services to assist those in need.

Description

One of the largest charitable and social service organizations in the world, The Salvation Army has been serving the people of Wake County since 1887. We provide food for the hungry, companionship to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless, opportunities for underprivileged children, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, and many more services to assist those in need.

Volunteers are needed throughout all of our programs during the year, and especially during the Christmas season, your help allows us to offer a place where weary souls can find rest, empty stomachs can find a warm meal, and families can find a home during difficult times.
