Mission Statement

Sydney’s Book Club is a 501c3 nonprofit organization promoting early reading and literacy skills in children while encouraging positive parent-child interaction. We do this by creating opportunities for emerging reading and literacy skills to form in preschoolers in and outside of the home on a regular basis! These opportunities include our online community, physical books club meetings, literacy camps, school visits, events, and by providing books to help build at home libraries.

Description

Since the launch of Sydney’s Book Club in December 2012, we've donated over 10,000 books to help build the at home libraries in underprivileged communities. We've aided in building the bookshelf titles of classrooms in Africa, prepared preschoolers for kindergarten entry, provided parents opportunities to positively interact with their child, participated in inner-city classrooms, and inspired a growing social movement of supporters to pass out books for Halloween. The amount of children and parents we've encouraged to read, to date, is countless! Our efforts have been captured on the south lawn of the White House, viewed on primetime, and have been highlighted in various media outlets across the country!
