Mission Statement

Safer is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to the care and welfare of stray and feral (wild) cats. Our goal is to practice TNR and promote spaying and neutering of cats, while also offering suitable cats for adoption.

We were founded in the summer of 2004. Our plans for the next few years are:

1. Educate people on feral cat colonies and the benefits of TNR.

2. To raise enough funds to buy and equip a mobile unit. This unit will travel to colonies upon request to trap then spay and neuter, thus helping to control the feral populations around our communities and better the lives of the animals themselves. We would then look for ways to continue to operate this traveling "clinic" so that it can work with colonies throughout the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex.

3. To open a shelter for adoptable cats. We would eventually like to raise enough funds to buy, equip and staff a no-kill shelter that would be dedicated solely to the welfare of homeless cats.

Description

We are a small rescue organization in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metroplex dedicated to helping cats. We participate in Trap-Neuter-Release programs in the area to assist with the control of the feral cat population.

We assist individuals in need with re-homing cats and kittens and hold adoption events monthly.

We assist individuals in need with donations of food and litter and other cat supplies.
