Mission Statement

The Mokelumne Coast to Crest Trail Council is a coalition of volunteers and public and private agencies leading the effort to establish a multi-use trail across central California that will extend from the Pacific Coast to the crest of the Sierra Nevada linking communities to the outdoor environment, meeting the growing recreational needs of our diverse state and fostering a greater awareness and appreciation for each region's unique natural, historical and cultural features.

Description

Along the Mokelumne Coast to Crest Trail, residents and visitors of varying ages and physical abilities will enjoy healthy outdoor leisure activities year round and will experience the urban greenbelt of the San Francisco Bay, the protected open space and parkland of the East Bay, the rural landscapes of the San Joaquin River Delta and Central Valley, the Mother Lode country and the forested slopes of the Mokelmne River canyon and High Sierra.

We are always looking for interested folks to join us in not only actual trail building (Mokelumne Trailbusters - Steve Diers at (209) 772-8260 sdiers@ebmud.com ), Council members and other admin. duties are available as well.. Currently we are actively soliciting a volunteer to serve as a Segment Coordinator for the section of proposed trail from Hwy 49 West to Tiger Creek Reservoir (and beyond).
