Mission Statement

Horses 'N Harmony is an organization dedicated to providing equine therapies to adults and children with disabilities. Those disabilities include physical, social, emotional and cognitive. They include but are not limited to down's syndrome, autism, multiple sclerosis, PTSD, behavioral, etc. We are a community oriented, charitable organization. Through a variety of equine programs, conducted in a safe, nurturing and supportive environment, our aim is to develop in each individual, increasing levels of competence in horsemanship, together with creating passion, confidence, and self-esteem. Additionally, we seek to share in the physical and emotional growth and well being of every participant, thereby enhancing the lives of all. Each session is tailored directly to fit each client's needs. Evaluations are completed on a regular basis in order to create the best program for each individual as well as keep family members involved in the process.

Description

Horses 'N Harmony is an equine facilitated therapy program with attention to hippotherapy, speech therapy, behvaioral therapy etc. Our organization travels throughout Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut offering equine therapies utilizing a portable ramp and mounting block in order to enable a variety of disabilities to mount a horse easily. We are not limited to just providing lessons in the saddle, we can also provide a equine therapies tailored directly to your needs on the ground or in a wheelchair.

Through Horses 'N Harmony, our volunteer staff and horses can provide, but are not limited to, self-esteem, confidence, leadership, vocational and educational skills, patience, responsibiilty, respect, overcoming fears, and most of all friendships.

Volunteers are one of our most important assets at the farm. Our volunteers are beyond giving in nature and have helped to develop the program into a program that develops lasting friendships. Volunteers are needed for the following:
