EIN: 95-6002781 Roosevelt Mission Statement The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.

Description

Roosevelt has a diverse student body:

In the 2013-1014 school year, among the 1000+ students in the 6th, 7th and 8th grade, 62% are Latino, 17% Caucasian; 14% African American; and 7% other. 19% of students are English Learners, 16% have special needs and 86% of students qualify for free or reduced cost lunch.

Roosevelt is a popular middle school for matriculating 5th graders:
Families from four "cluster" elementary schools and a dozen other community schools through out the city, enroll their children at Roosevelt for many reasons, the most important of which is its success in preparing them for high school and for life. The school community aims to ensure 100% high school graduation and post secondary educational for all of its students.
