Mission Statement

Promote, maintain and improve the health and well-being of older adults through the provision of a nutritionally balanced meal, socialization and check on them five or more times a week.

Description

We serve approximately 750 meals five days a week to seniors sixty years of age or older throughout our ten county area including Camden, Chowan, Currituck, Dare, Gates, Hyde, Pasquotank, Perquimans, Tyrrell and Washington Counties. Approximately half of those are served to home bound older adults that are physically or mentally unable to prepare a nutritious meal for themselves. These meals are delivered throughout the ten county area by volunteers donating their time and resources. Not only do the volunteers deliver nutritious meals but socialization and assurance that someone will come to their door five times a week to check on them. This service often allows the senior to remain in their own home longer.
