Would you recommend Peace Corps Headquarters?

This organization gives you a chance to work independently as a volunteer with the support of the U.S. government. The three major goals of the Peace Corps are to: Help the people of interested countries meet needs for training; Help promote a better understanding of Americans; Help promote a better understanding of other peoples on the part of Americans. Service gives you an opportunity to learn about another country's people, language and culture. It is no holiday. The 2 year commitment can be frustrating and rewarding. I think most volunteers make self discoveries during their service; both positive and negative. On the downside, services for Return PC Volunteers are limited outside of D.C. I would say insufficient overall. If you join for the benefits you will be disappointed. If you join to serve others, it is a rewarding experience. I would highly recommend Peace Corps to those willing to make sacrifices and adjust to another way of life.

I believe that I received as much or more than I gave while serving as a Peace Corps Volunteer. I learned a new language, gained many new skills, and increased my confident in my abilities.

as it is written, we can make difference in others lives
