Our patients come on to our service and are looking for a volunteer who can spend time with them to talk about various topics and help them enjoy the rest of their life to the fullest extent. What will the Veteran Volunteer do? Veteran Cafe's: We also ask the Veteran Volunteers if they could attend Veteran Cafe's at various facilities to help our Veteran patients. The Veteran Cafe's helps to promote companionship with patient and community members to bond with each other and offer a safe place for the Veteran to talk about their experiences. If you are a Veteran with a passion for caring for others and looking to serve your fellow Veterans, consider becoming a Veteran hospice volunteer. Telephone Support Volunteers Needed for Greater Southeastern MA including Cape Cod

Are you looking to volunteer? Do you enjoy talking on the telephone? You have come to the right place! Beacon Hospice an Amedisys company is looking for volunteers to make telephone calls to patients and family members as well as Bereavement Support Phone calls. We have several opportunities available: Admission Calls - these calls are made 10 days after the patient has joined our service. Service Calls - these calls are made bi-weekly to check in on the patient and families. Bereavement Support Calls These calls can be made directly from your home, or you could visit the care centers and make the calls from there. We will provide a script to use to make the call. You will be required to complete Volunteer Training Program before starting these calls. Our training is free, and participants will receive a Certificate for completing the training.
