Mission Statement

Our Mission is to enrich lives. That begins with every life we encounter. Our employees, our patients and those who love and care for them, Heartland Hospice is a growing company dedicated to providing compassionate care to our patients with life limiting illnesses wherever they live. A strong component Heartland's team approach to hospice care is our volunteer program that offers human-to-human enrichment to the patient and the patient's family in providing this hospice benefit.

Description

Hospice is a special kind of care designed to provide sensitivity and support for people in the final phase of a terminal illness. Hospice care seeks to enable patients to carry on an alert, pain-free life and to manage other symptoms so that the last days may be spent with dignity and quality at home or in a home-like setting. It is the goal of Heartland Hospice to provide palliative and supportive services to meet physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs to the patients and caregivers in the home, health care facilities, or other residential settings. These services will be provided without regard to race, religion, gender, creed, sex or ability to pay.

I am a veteran volunteer with Heartland, and it has been a fantastic experience for me. I have recommended it to several people because I have had such phenomenal support from everyone in the organization, but especially from my volunteer coordinator. She has gone above and beyond to help both her volunteers and her patients; this is a calling and not just a job for the people at this company. I can't say enough good things about my time at Heartland. If you are looking to make a difference, this is a great place to start. You will find support and mentoring here. A very positive experience all around. Please give it a try. You won't regret it!

They were not well organized and I wanted to help assist with administration and they had me visit patients
