Description

Sinto Senior Activity Center (SSAC) was founded in 1958 when a group of neighborhood seniors purchased the Pacific Northwest Bell Broadway Exchange Building located at 1124 W. Sinto Avenue. SSAC is the oldest senior activity center in Spokane, WA!

Sinto’s membership grew steadily in the 1960’s resulting in the need of more funding. In 1969, members of the board approached the Spokane Parks & Recreation Department for funds to help operate the center. The partnership at that time made SSAC an official program with the Spokane Parks and Recreation Dept. That relationship has evolved as time has passed.

Today, Sinto Senior Activity Center is a non-profit organization with a staff of six and a robust Board of managers. We continue to receive funding and support from Spokane Parks and Recreation Department today, however we now own and manage the center. Our membership is over 500 strong and we offer a fun loving environment with daily activities, local and out of state travel, special events, exercise classes and educational programs.
