Would you recommend USA Clydesdale Preservation Foundation?
USA Clydesdale Preservation Foundation is great for high school students.
Rebecca the director, is has such a legitimate love of the Clydesdales and the preservation of this beautiful, but at risk breed. All the volunteers work as a team and are so supportive to get the work done. No one is left out and training is provided on the fundamentals of horse care and handling. Volunteering with the USACPF has opened up new friends with a common interest - to protect a breed that is mostly not understood that it is at risk. When I volunteer a few hours each week, you find a release to all the daily pressures that being with horses provides and knowing my contributions for the horses care is worthwhile.
Volunteering here as taught me such things as how to feed, horse handling skills and I had no idea there is a Clydesdale population decline which could result in extinction – very scary thought for these gentle giants. There are many volunteer opportunities no matter your skill set; outdoor maintenance/repair, horse care, office help, etc. If you have time they’d appreciate your help, even if you can only commit to once or twice per month, every volunteer hour helps. Everyone I’ve met here is helpful and friendly which makes it an enjoyable place to come.
I've really enjoyed volunteering with this organization. Everyone here is so friendly and welcoming. I've enjoyed it so much I've recommended my friends and family to volunteer as well!
I needed volunteer hours to look good on my graduate applications. Little did I know I would be staying with USACPF for over 2 years! This organization has many areas to improve your skills. From horse care to PR and fundraising, office work, grant writing, or even scientific research, there is room to grow and the experience is priceless. Most importantly, all the volunteers are dedicated to the conservation of the Clydesdale breed. This organization is the first of its kind, and they are striving to make a difference in the future of this breed. They host wonderful and exciting fundraisers, offer training and guidance for horse care techniques, and they even have a youth program. I highly recommend for those who want to volunteer in a fun and exciting environment, who love horses, or those who just want to explore their own skill sets and see what life will bring!
I have volunteered for this wonderful organization for over a year and a half. Even though I moved out of state, I volunteer here whenever I'm in town for a visit. The Director and volunteers are dedicated to the 6 Clydesdales living on site and to the mission of the Foundation - to educate the public about the at risk nature of this breed and to promote their worth in preservation. I have loved being with these gentle horses - the feeding, grooming, cleaning stalls(!) and education events this Foundation holds. It is evident these horses are loved and well cared for and the organization's mission is strong and true.
I have a huge love for horses. I think what this organization is doing is amazing. These horses need all the love and care that they are receiving here.
