Description

SRO Housing Corporation was founded in 1984. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to building a vibrant community for homeless and very low-income individuals in Skid Row. Everything we do is built upon the conviction that any plan to revitalize downtown Los Angeles must address the dire housing conditions in Skid Row, 50 square blocks between 3rd and 7th Streets and Main and Alameda Streets. It is one of the most impoverished neighborhoods, home to one of the largest populations of homeless persons, in the entire United States. Skid Row residents are poor, elderly, disabled, mentally ill, addicted to drugs/alcohol, chronically ill, veterans, and/or unemployed. SRO Housing is dedicated to building a vibrant community for homeless and low-income individuals. We have developed 29 residential properties in Skid Row and house over 2,300 formerly homeless individuals. We are the only organization in Los Angeles to provide the full continuum of housing ( Emergency/ Short Term, Transitional, and Permanent Supportive Housing) in private units with on-site case management and supportive services. We are dedicated to Opening Doors and Transforming Lives...
