Our Vision: Health For All Every week our Chicken Soup Brigade Client Care Advocates, Nutritionists, Chefs and Cooks, Warehouse and Distribution staff, and regular weekly volunteers work together to make, package, bag, and deliver medically tailored meals and groceries to clients. We serve homebound seniors and people living with serious health conditions across King, Snohomish, and Island County. Where you come in: Lifelong's Chicken Soup Brigade (CSB) needs volunteers to prepare grocery bags in our warehouse for delivery. The warehouse is the foundation of our work in getting food to clients living with and at risk of serious illnesses. With nearly 1.5 million pounds of food coming through our door every year, we need all hands on deck to help process the donations. Our Vision: Health For All Making an impact in your community is easier than you think! Help deliver nutritious, culturally appropriate groceries and medically-tailored meals from the Chicken Soup Brigade to our clients who are home-bound and/or living with serious illnesses. Volunteer drivers are the heart and soul of our food program, delivering thousands of bags of groceries as well as medically-tailored meals each week to our clients. Routes take 60-90 minutes to complete (including picking up the food from our home base in Georgetown), you will deliver to around 6-8 clients per route, and we can try to find a route near where you live to save driving time and help you build connections within your community. We are currently looking for support across King and Snohomish Counties. Available routes are below Monday - West Renton Tuesday - Burien, Queen Anne, Magnolia, Interbay Wednesday - Lynnwood, Shoreline, Everett, North Seattle, First Hill Thursday - Renton, Newcastle Pickup Time/Location: We can generally accommodate pickups from our warehouse in Georgetown from 9am - 3pm. We also have satellite pickup locations in Bellevue, Auburn, and Everett on certain days of the week to reduce your driving time if you live close to those areas. Please ask us about those if you're interested! Commitment: 1 shift per week for at least 3 months (OK to take time off for vacations and other commitments. Just make sure those dates are communicated to us!) Qualifications: Must be 18 years old or older, have a driver’s license, and a reliable vehicle with proof of insurance. Our wraparound care model supports the whole person by breaking down barriers and improving access to nutritious food, stable housing, and vital health resources for people living with diabetes, HIV, kidney disease, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our community support network fills the gaps in broken systems and ensures that everyone has an equitable opportunity to thrive.
