Bringing individuals and communities together to create opportunities to promote quality of life for older adults.
The L.I.F.E. Program, located in West Hollywood and Park La Brea, helps older adults in a NORC (Naturally Occurring Retirement Community) continue to live safe, independent and connected lives in the homes and communities they love. Through direct service delivery and volunteer opportunities, we are dedicated to assisting older adults to remain in their home with optimal health, dignity and independence for as long as possible.
As a program of JFS, L.I.F.E. creates a one-stop resource that links older adults, their family members, friends and caregivers to solutions for issues related to aging. L.I.F.E. provides a seamless delivery of services by working closely with the JFS's West Hollywood Comprehensive Service Center and Freda Mohr Multipurpose Center.
L.I.F.E. provides opportunities for meaningful community involvement by engaging the creativity and energy of residents of all ages. Volunteers take an active role in designing, developing and coordinating LIFE programs to keep older adults socially, intellectually and physically active.
The L.I.F.E. Program also offers a Senior Talkline which is a "Warm line," a non-emergency, non-crisis support and referral telephone response service. The Senior Talkline allows the caller to leave a message and a volunteer or staff will call back within 24 hours, Monday through Friday. Whether you have a specific question or just to talk, Senior Talkline' s trained volunteers are available to lend a sympathetic ear, offer support, and share knowledge about local resources. Senior Talkline can also be used to RSVP to L.I.F.E. events.
