Mission Statement

Autism Speaks is dedicated to promoting solutions, across the spectrum and throughout the lifespan, for the needs of individuals with autism and their families. We do this through advocacy and support; increasing understanding and acceptance of people with autism, and advancing research into causes and better interventions for autism spectrum disorder and related conditions. Through partnerships and collaboration, we are committed to: 1. ​Increasing global understanding and acceptance of autism 2. Being a catalyst for research breakthroughs 3. Increasing early-childhood screening and timely interventions 4. Improving the transition to adulthood 5. Ensuring access to reliable information and services throughout the lifespan

Description

The organization operates on a local/regional basis with the support of countless volunteers comprising family members, friends, educators and other wonderful and concerned individuals. Our annual walk is our premier fundraising event.

It was a wonderful experience, it was a very warm and friendly environment. Every volunteer or organizers I met was very sweet and I learned a lot about organizing and setting up events. They provided refreshments and we were able to participate in the walk and dances with the participants.
