PetsnPatients is a grassroots network of pet care and pet loving volunteersworking to prevent newly-disabled patients from relinquishing or re-homing their pets during a health crisis, by evaluating local options.
It's not just seniors, it's not just low income, it's the middle class person who has a family, maybe a single parent or a couple in an accident, a sudden death. It could you!
IT IS A FACT, companion pets that are given up without ever having been in a kennel situation are often so stressed the euthanasia is the future they face in animal control units or privately, if there is no time given for the patient to recover.
Why is this happening?
It's a gap, when you can't take care of yourself, who takes care of your pets?
