Senior Services of Alexandria

Description

Senior Services of Alexandria (SSA) was founded in 1968 by a group of dedicated and visionary City residents committed to improving the lives of seniors in our community.

In partnership with the City of Alexandria, donors, faith communities, and volunteers, SSA continues to provide vital programs and services for seniors including Meals on Wheels, DOT Para-transit Services, the Friendly Visitors Program, a monthly Speaker Series and the Senior Resource Center which offers in-home care employment services and information about local service providers, activities and resources for seniors and their caregivers.

SSA is an important link between aging citizens and other community members. With a dedicated board and staff, SSA will continue to advocate and work to fullfill its mission, to foster independence and self-sufficiency, enabling seniors within the City of Alexandria to age with dignity.
