Fit and Fall Proof(tm) a community program to help seniors prevent falls, is seeking volunteers to help other volunteers. Fit and Fall Proof(tm) is low impact, yet effective balance and mobility exercise class that improves the quality of life for everyone involved. Led by trained volunteer leaders, Fit and Fall Proof(tm) has been helping seniors since 2004. Our program is seeking people who know the importance of exercise and having groups of friends, but not wanting to stand in front of a class to teach exercise. Hostess/hosts or "helpers" are an invaluable part of Fit and Fall Proof(tm) success. They take a lot of the pressure off of the class leader by doing the logistical and clerical tasks. Such as: Greeting arrivals Class set up/ tear down Taking attendance Orienting new participants Helping participants with equipment Helping with quarterly progress measurements (very easy to do) Giving fun and welcoming energy to class Being appreciated beyond measure Of course you get to exercise and improve your own balance and mobility while making new friends, and having a ton of fun. An hour a week can make a huge difference to other volunteers, and the community in general. You will be a part of something spectacular, yet remain in your comfort zone. Should you eventually wish to teach, we will be glad to have you do so. Classes are weekday mornings at a variety of locations. The schedule is very flexible and accommodating. We would love to have you join the team, and want you to enjoy our time with us.

Fit and Fall Proof(tm) is a peer led, volunteer program that improves the quality of life for senior citizens. We provide low impact exercises classes that improve balance and mobility. Classes are free or donation, and are held in churches, libraries, and community centers. The Center for Disease Control reports that one out of three adults aged 65 or older fall each year. Of that, less than half of the fall victims discuss the situation with their healthcare provider. By volunteering with Fit and Fall Proof(tm), you can help seniors maintain a high quality of life, make new social contacts, and have a great time doing so. We will provide all the training and materials needed. Volunteer times are mostly weekday mornings, at various locations throughout the Treasure Valley. We look forward to answering your questions, and assisting you in a new adventure. No previous exercise experience is necessary, and everyone is encouraged to make a difference in your community.
