Elara Caring is looking for high school and college students who are interested in learning more about hospice services while gaining hands on experience with patients, an experience valued by both education institutions and employers. No special skills are necessary, just a listening ear and an open open heart. It will be some of the most rewarding time you'll ever spend. Elara Caring provides a wonderful opportunity to achieve this certification. After completing orientation and training, you may choose from a variety of volunteer experiences to create your own unique area of concentration. Not only will you receive certification, but you will learn more about hospice care, the health care industry, and gain valuable patient experience to pursue a career within the medical or behavioral health field.

Elara Caring is looking for passionate volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of our patients and their families. We are looking for volunteers to spend time with a patient in our care. There is no physical care involved with these weekly visits. Hours are very flexible (weekdays, evenings or weekends) and typically 1-2 hours per week. We are also seeking volunteers who would be available to help with various Elara Caring events including, attending local fairs, college recruitment events, or helping with special events. Times and dates of events vary, though most occur during business hours. A volunteer who sees patients can also help during specialized events too!

Time is our most precious gift, especially at the end of life's journey. Since we at Elara Caring feel strongly about family, it is our policy that no person shall die alone. As a By Your Side volunteer, you will spend time sitting with a patient who is peacefully dying. This will not only be a personal vigil for the patient, but also a time to provide comfort to any family members present. No special skills are necessary, just an open heart for the patient and a lending ear for family and friends who may wish to reminisce about the patient's life. It will be some of the most rewarding time you'll ever spend. Elara Caring is currently looking for compassionate volunteers willing to donate their time to provide exceptional end-of-life care to local hospice patients and their families. There is no physical care involved. Hours are flexible - weekdays, evenings or weekends on an as-needed basis.
