The Texas Health and Human Services Commission offers a learning opportunity in the Eligibility Services Program. This program helps to provide low-income families with basic food, financial and medical assistance through the following programs: Food Stamps, Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, (TANF), and Medicaid. Tasks available to volunteers are varied and placement is based upon the volunteer's interest, capability and the availability of openings. This placement offers valuable office experience and an insight into social services and the relationships between federal, state, community and individual needs.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Texas Health and Human Services Commission is to provide the leadership and direction and foster the spirit of innovation needed to achieve an efficient and effective health and human services system for Texas. Volunteer Services division aspires to enhance human services through community involvement.
