Mission Statement

The Volunteer Healthcare Clinic provides free, high quality healthcare to some of Austin's most vulnerable residents.

Description

In 1966, a dedicated group quietly began finding healthcare for people who had no access to medical services. Many of Austin's working poor such as manual laborers must choose between food for their families and medical care. The Volunteer Healthcare Clinic, formerly known as Caritas Clinic, provides high quality healthcare for this uninsured population. With a small staff, our clinic is operated almost entirely by volunteer doctors, nurses, interpreters and office aides. Our volunteers range from young adults to retired medical professionals sharing their time and talent with some of Austin's most vulnerable residents.

Wonderful, kind people to work with, and such an important mission. There is such a huge gap in the healthcare system for low income people, and this clinic goes such a long way towards plugging that gap.
