Mission Statement

The PEERS Project creates a positive influence network for teens who teach their peers how to make healthy lifestyle choices.

Description

The PEERS Project (PEERS) achieves its goals by partnering with schools and community organizations. PEERS’ local adult Coordinators achieve their common goals by working together to identify positive teenage role models, and to educate and equip them to motivate their peers to be leaders, to avoid all risky behaviors, and to teach PEERS’ positive youth development curriculum. PEERS creates opportunities for teenage mentors to interface with peers by team teaching its age-appropriate, interactive sessions to adolescent participants. PEERS’ program has become an integral part of its schools’ health and wellness curriculum.
