Who We Are BRIDGES FOR HOPE INTERNATIONAL is a newly established organization operating out of Virginia, USA, with a twofold vision. We hope to ignite a worldwide movement of Muslims coming to Christ through Holistic Community Transformation programs and to mobilize western believers to compassionately engage their Muslim neighbors toward this goal. Our Plan As inspired Christ followers from around the world, we will work toward compassionate transformational development among Muslims, building bridges of understanding and respect that they might experience the fullness of life about which Jesus taught.These bridges include, but are not limited to: Transforming communities so that all live in a context of health, peace, dignity, gainful employment and educational opportunity Multiplying community transformation by empowering local Christ followers Developing disaster strategies and delivering emergency relief. These bridges will tear down walls of misunderstanding, and generate a genuine interest in the life and message of Jesus. Our Motivation Currently, roughly one in four humans is a Muslim, and the religion of Islam is growing faster than any other religion today. Predictions of future growth (largely based on birth rates alone) show Islam overtaking Christianity in its total number of adherents by 2035. Yet, of the sixty percent of church funds worldwide going to missions, only nine percent of that sixty is targeting those in Islamic culture. This is an unfortunate imbalance. Though in recent history Muslims have often suffered neglect by the church, we believe, based on Scriptures like Matthew 28:19-20, that Muslims are loved by God, and that it is the responsibility of the church to reach them with that love. How did Christ love? In word and deed (Matt. 9:36-38). Jesus both proclaimed the truth, and had compassion on His hearers by meeting their felt needs. Before His ascension He told His disciples that He was sending them just as He had been sent by the Father. Jesus is our example in ministry. Imagine the outcome if Christ followers around the world began to risk everything from their time and money to their very lives to reach Muslims with this love. Abundant living would come to them, and Jesus would receive the worship due Him. This is our greatest desire. At BRIDGES FOR HOPE INTERNATIONAL we recognize our need for prayer, finances, and volunteers to accomplish this goal of loving Muslims through community transformation into the Kingdom of Heaven. We also recognize that these needs can only be met by the body of Christ. For that reason we'd like to ask you to consider partnering with us by meeting one or more of these needs.
