The Adaptive Recreation program provides a variety of year-round therapeutic recreation activities to individuals with physical, developmental and mental disabilities. Our services include: Specially Designed Programs which are created and adapted for a specific disability group (example: Wheelchair Tennis), TRAC (Transition to Recreational Activities in the Community), a program designed to integrate disabled individuals into already existing recreational programs and 14 year-round, competitive Special Olympics sports programs for developmentally disabled individuals.
Mission Statement
To provide opportunities through community based therapeutic recreation programs for citizens with disabilities to develop physical, social and leisure skills necessary to participate in a continuum of activities which will enhance their well-being.
