Maine Conservation Corps

The Maine Conservation Corps (MCC) was created in 1983 and is dedicated to accomplishing natural resource projects, providing jobs, training, and conservation education, as well as promoting volunteer opportunities. MCC places members throughout Maine to serve on environmental and conservation projects. Positions range from three-month to 10-month commitments. Some members serve individually at agencies and nonprofit organizations to address resource issues and educate Maine citizens. Other members serve on Field Teams building trails and campsites.

Mission Statement

The Mission of the Maine Conservation Corps (MCC) is to:

Accomplish natural resource related projects, with long-term public benefit, in partnership with public and private nonprofit organizations.

Provide job training, education, and work opportunities, especially for the economically disadvantaged.

Provide conservation education.

Promote and manage volunteers opportunities related to natural resources.
