AIU/Education for Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness program

Over the past 6 months I have really enjoyed my experience as a Together Time volunteer. Each time I end a session I have a smile on my face and feel re-energized. This is a fantastic opportunity to encourage learning through play and relationship building AND have fun doing it! Anyone who enjoys songs, games, reading to and playing with young children has something to contribute. These special kids have been through a lot of adversity but Together Time is a way for everyone to have fun, play and just be a kid!

Together Time is an outstanding program that touches the lives of one of the most vulnerable populations: children and families experiencing homelessness. As a volunteer, I have had the privilege of working with young children in a light-hearted and fun atmosphere that promotes positive parent-child experiences. As a volunteer, you will get to facilitate fun learning activities and crafts that bring out the child in everyone!! I cannot speak more highly of Sarah Aglio, as she is highly organized and supportive throughout the volunteer experience. The memories that you will help these families create and the personal memories that you will gain are truly remarkable, irreplaceable and inspiring! I have learned more from these families than I could have ever taught them.
