Yes, we could really use your volunteer assistance. Home Delivered Meal Drivers deliver a nutritious midday meal to the homebound, frail elderly of Dutchess County from one of our 8 OFA Friendship Centers. Most drivers volunteer once a week for a route that takes under one hour. Other arrangements can also be made. Centers are located in the City of Poughkeepsie, City of Beacon, and the towns of Fishkill, East Fishkill, Pawling, Poughkeepsie and Red Hook, the village of Millerton and hamlet of South Amenia. We can work with wherever you are able and willing to drive, and with whatever your schedule is. Contact us to learn more about mileage reimbursement, insurance and other issues.

We will be busy with outdoor events during the spring, summer and fall of 2023, including our annual OFA Summer Picnic program. The 2024 schedule of OFA picnics will be posted in April at www.dutchessny.gov/OFApicnics. (You can look at a recap of the 2023 season there now.) Our usual picnic schedule covers 12 Wednesdays between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Other outdoor events include drive-in bingo, concerts, pickleball and more. We need volunteer help that can include setting up and taking down picnic tables and chairs; bringing food and drinks to picnic guests; pointing out where OFA information can be found,;and parking guidance. Prepare, package, and/or deliver hot and shelf-stable/frozen meals from the Dutchess County Office for the Aging's Home Delivered Meals (HDM) program to homebound seniors throughout the county. The Office for the Aging is using its eight Senior Friendship Centers as hubs for meals distribution. They're located in Beacon, East Fishkill, Millerton, Pawling, the City and Town of Poughkeepsie, Red Hook, and South Amenia.

The Office for the Aging's eight Senior Friendship Centers are reopening to senior clients, and we'd love to have you join us as a Friendship Center volunteer! Help is needed with regular day-to-day operations, including set-up, clean-up and in the kitchen.
