Primary Goal Help people live a quality life in a familiar and comfortable environment surrounded by family and friends, L.H. seeks to enhance this time by providing education and support to patient and caregivers

Description

We are a non-profit, ministry-based program serving people of all faiths and beliefs since 1995. Serving eleven counties, our tenured staff has more than 300 years of combined service. Local ownership and management also make a difference. Our staff lives and works in their community offering support to patients and their caregivers, for us it's not just a job it is a calling.

Volunteering for Upstate Lutheran Hospice is like joining a big family. There is a huge support network for Volunteers at Upstate Lutheran Hospice. I recall visiting with a patient and seeing a nurse from Upstate Lutheran Hospice and she said, “thank you for all that you do.” The recognition she gave me made an indelible impression… like what I was doing mattered. The care and love they give to patients reaches everyone around them. This was one of multiple times I was thanked by Lutheran Hospice staff. Volunteers at Upstate Lutheran Hospice are supported, recognized, and valued.
