Mission Statement

Coastal Pet Rescue is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit animal rescue organization, founded in February 2003, based in Savannah, Georgia dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused and neglected dogs and cats in the Coastal Empire Savannah and surrounding areas.

Description

Coastal Pet Rescue provides:

  • Rescue, foster care, veterinary care, and sterilization for animals in county animal shelters that would otherwise be euthanized.
  • Foster care for animals surrendered by their owners who either can no longer provide for the pets or no longer wish to have them in their homes.
  • Adoption of rescued pets to qualified homes that have been properly screened and counseled by our adoption coordinators and foster parents to maintain the pet in the home for a lifetime.
  • Training of leadership team members and volunteers in the areas of humane education, animal welfare, animal behavior and care, and disaster response.
  • Education to the public in the form of adoption counseling, pet behavior consultation and training, hurricane evacuation planning, media interviews, and classroom presentations.

My sons and I have volunteered here for over a year and adopted a dog from CPR. The volunteers work tirelessly to make sure each animal has a home. They work with all groups and individuals, families, whoever wants to help. They are all dedicated and caring people.

I have been volunteering with Coastal Pet Rescue since 2007. They are a fantastic organization to be a part of. Everyone is really nice and friendly and you can tell they operate from their hearts when it comes to rescuing our area's abandoned pets. I am also an adopter through Coastal Pet Rescue. This organization and its volunteers have helped so many animals. It warms my heart to be part of something that makes an impact in my community!

Coastal Pet Rescue is a team of dedicated individuals with a wealth of knowledge who impact the lives of animals in our area. Whether you are a volunteer, a donor, an adopter or a friend, you are valued and important. CPR saves lives - bottom line. Not an hour in the day goes by that we are not asked to take in a dog or cat for one reason or another. It is heart breaking work at times because you just can not save them all....but it is heart warming when you see all the ones whose lives have been forever changed because of Coastal Pet Rescue.
