Volunteer Position: Wellness Coach (PEARLS) For over 25 years, Daly City Partnership (DCP) has transformed lives and offered innovative and impactful programs. Role Overview: As a Pearls Coach focused on senior wellness for the Healthy Aging Response Team (HART), a department of Daly City Partnership, you will be an integral part of our team. The PEARLS Coach volunteer position within the Healthy Aging Response Team provides support, guidance, and empowerment to individuals ages 60+ facing challenges related to depression, anxiety, and overall mental well-being. Key Responsibilities: Deliver Program to Encourage Active and Rewarding Lives (PEARLS) to older adults ages 60+ facing depression and anxiety in person, virtually, or by telephone. Provide 1-on-1 skill-building sessions and health promotion activities. Conduct regular follow-ups and check-ins to monitor progress and provide ongoing support. Collaborate with fellow coaches and program coordinator to develop mental health improvement strategies, given experience, challenges and successes. Requirements: Familiarity with coaching techniques or willingness to undergo training. Empathetic and compassionate approach to individuals facing mental health challenges. Strong communication and active listening skills. Report individual client attendance and outcomes to the program supervisor. Training: 10 hours of online, autonomous, self-paced training followed by a 1.5-hour scheduled meeting Time Commitment: 4 hours per week. Flexible hours, participation in provided training, potential for occasional in-person sessions, and completion of necessary onboarding processes. Role Overview: As a Technology Class Instructor focused on senior wellness for the Healthy Aging Response Team (HART), a department of Daly City Partnership, you will be an integral part of our team-the volunteer Tech. Class Instructor position within the Healthy Aging Response Team provides tech-related education, skill-building, support, guidance, and empowerment to individuals ages 60+ facing challenges related to technology access, loneliness, transportation, and mobility. Key Responsibilities: Conduct tech classes, teaching older adults various technology skills based on their needs and interests Provide 1-on-1 assistance for tech-related queries and skill enhancement. Collaborate with team members to improve comprehensive tech education programs, given experience, challenges and successes. Requirements: Moderate proficiency in various technology devices, software, and concepts (e.g., smartphones, tablets/laptops, Apple and Android, internet safety, device security, etc.). Patience and adaptability in teaching skills to individuals with varying experience levels. Teaching or training experience preferred, but not required. Report attendance and class outcomes to the program supervisor. Training: 10 hours of online, autonomous, self-paced training followed by a final 1.5-hour session Time Commitment: 4 hours per week. Flexible hours for training/planning. Conduct classes as in-person sessions (2-3 hours per session), and completion of necessary onboarding requirements. Role Overview: As an Information & Referral Support Line Worker for the Healthy Aging Response Team (HART), a department of Daly City Partnership, you will be an integral part of our team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the well-being of individuals within the community served by HART. This position responds to incoming and provides info. and referrals for critical connections to social and health services to older and disabled adults. Follow-up and check-in calls are provided to ensure client connectedness and support. Requirements: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to listen deeply, be patient and compassionate and practice good judgment. Desire to be of service to older adults and adults with disabilities; ability to provide respectful and compassionate support. Detailed and careful recordkeeping for data entry and important client case notes. Preferred Skills: Basic computer skills, simple data entry (training provided) Training: Participate in a 30-40-hour comprehensive training that provides a working understanding of community-based services and personal communication methods that promote compassionate, caring phone engagement. Continuing education is provided. Time Commitment: 4 hours per week, choice of shifts from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Participation in training, occasional in-person sessions, and completion of necessary onboarding processes.
