Description

The Cara Program provides life-skills training, job-skills training, career placement, and intensive support services to empower our students (all working-age adults) to break the cycles of homelessness and poverty and to achieve real, lasting success.

The Cara Program (Cara) has been a proud fixture in Chicago’s workforce since 1991 and over the last 25 years has evolved from the dream of Chicago entrepreneur Tom Owens into a best-in-class job training and placement program. This year, Cara celebrates their 25th Birthday (celebrated through July 2015 - June 2016). This milestone acknowledges Cara’s 25 years of jobs and hope and celebrates the transformations of Cara "students" (program participants) while creating more awareness about Cara’s mission and services in preparing motivated individuals affected by homelessness and poverty create and secure personal and professional success.

By leveraging an innovative curriculum, creating business solutions (social enterprises) to enhance training and generate revenue, and leading with data-driven management, Cara has placed more than 5,000 individuals into quality employment since 1991, with 70% or more remaining in their job for at least one year.

But, we need your help!Help us bring our proven program and solution for poverty alleviation to thousands more motivated men and women in search of a second chance at a meaningful career. With motivated professionals like you by our side who care about making an impact in Chicago, we can together transform lives!
