Left Foot Organics

Left Foot Organics operates an organic market garden of about two acres, producing a variety of certified organic seasonal vegetables for sale in local markets. We grow over 50 varieties of vegetables, from arugula to zucchini, as well as a few herbs and flowers. As we expand we plan to add perennial crops, certified organic vegetable starts, and small livestock with the objective of occupying up to ten to twenty acres in five years. We offer CSA subscriptions for supporters who are willing to help us "earn while we learn" and keep Left Foot growing. Currently, Left Foot provides seasonal employment for 10-12 growers from March to November. Volunteer and training positions are also available. We seek to employ individuals at varying developmental levels with a variety of relevant abilities and interests, modeling on the farm the inclusive community we want to create. Our long term goal is to become a model horticultural therapy program and community resource, providing year-round employment and training opportunities for a dozen or more people. We need your help to make Left Foot Organics a successful community resource. There are lots opportunities for you to be involved. We need volunteers to work alongside and to serve as job coaches for our staff on the farm and at market. We also need fundraising and promotional talent, as well as consumers. If you have skills that you would like to share, please consider us. If you eat, help us by buying a share! You can also find Left Foot certified organic produce at the Food Coop, Bayview and Ralph's in Olympia, at the Proctor Farmers Market in Tacoma, at the new OlySunday Market in Olympia, and on the farm Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Call or E-mail us at volunteer@leftfootorganics.org to learn more about how you can help!
