American Red Cross Greensboro, NC

Volunteers constitute 96 percent of our total work force to carry on our humanitarian work.

Every year the Red Cross responds to more than 70,000 disasters-including approximately 150 home fires every day.

About 11 million Americans turn to us to learn first aid, CPR, swimming, and other health and safety skills.

Half the nation's blood supply is collected by the Red Cross.

Among our emergency services for the men and women of the armed forces is the delivery of urgent family messages-around the clock and around the globe.

As part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement, Red Cross reconnects families separated by conflicts and disasters around the world through international tracking services and Red Cross messages.

Any org. That help people is a winner, because some elder people can't do for themselves, and are in need of help, one day I will be old and hope I find someone to help me. Or and org that will take me in when theirs no one else around to help. I'm not working and would like to help people. It's very rewarding helpings others. If we helped at least 1 -2 people a day then that was a successful day.

I have learned so much while volunteering at the Red Cross. If you are compassionate person -you should volunteer here-they have lots of things for you to do. UPDATED (a few years later) I would not volunteer For them, personally, because I didn't have much "office experience" and I felt that it was too fast paced for me!
