Description
SENDCAA Head Start programs generate positive, strength-based outcomes by focusing on early childhood development and education, parent involvement age-appropriate screenings, health, family and social services, nutrition, mental health, and disabilities services.
Head Start promotes school readiness for three and four year olds by enhancing the social and cognitive development of children through a preschool curriculum that prepares them for kindergarten. The program is vital to stimulating children's imaginations and providing positive interaction with other children.
Early Head Start is designed to enhance the development of very young children by supporting the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and language development of each child through a diverse range of early education services while recognizing parents as the child's primary nurturers and advocates.
10% of SENDCAA Head Start / Early Head Start enrollment slots are reserved for children with disabilities.
