Flexible Schedule | Virtual Opportunity

LTB Tutors are dedicated volunteers who believe deeply in educational equity. Our tutors volunteer their time to make the lives of underserved K-12 kids and their families easier, their opportunities greater, and their dreams bigger. We are currently seeing a rise in the need for Spanish speaking tutors. Most tutoring will be done in English, but many of our families require communication in Spanish. Spanish speakers don't need to be fluent, conversational Spanish is also a plus! Responsibilities: Select your own student to work with from a list of available student profiles. Commit to tutoring at least 1-2x per week for 3 months or longer (this is flexible as semesters end) Support your student/s with homework help or use the resources provided by LTB to create your own lesson plans for your student. Submit 1-2 minute feedback forms after each tutoring session. Don't Miss the Opportunity To: Change a kid's life for the better by providing free online tutoring to students from underserved communities. Build connections with students from all over the US to broaden your perspective and learn more about yourself. Join a diverse network of passionate individuals. Receive community service hours, letters of recommendation, and build your resume! Volunteer on your own schedule without having to leave the house. Description

Learn To Be helps kids from under-resourced communities unlock their own potential by connecting them with free, 1-on-1 online tutoring. We believe that all kids should have access to an exceptional education - not just those whose families can afford one. Since 2012, our tutors have helped more than 7,800 students from low-income households and foster organizations excel in subjects ranging from basic math and reading comprehension to chemistry and precalculus. Unlike other free tutoring services, Learn To Be’s volunteers provide ongoing 1-on-1 support for as long as it takes for students meet their goals, resulting in an average test score increase of 15.8% and a GPA increase of 1.6. Learn To Be is committed to making the lives of kids from under-resourced communities easier, their opportunities greater, and their dreams bigger.

Learn to Be tutoring has helped my daughter so much! We appreciate our wonderful tutor and everything Learn to Be is doing! So easy to use, all learning is done on a virtual classroom on Learn to Be’s website!

I reached out and someone contacted me from the organization about getting started. We exchanged a few emails and set up a call for Monday. They requested that I set up some accounts, which I did. I reached out again to confirm the time for out video chat but no one got back to me. I'm not sure if their workload is heavy or they changed their mind on what they are looking for but I thought it was unprofessional that my email went unanswered after they requested a video chat.
