The Salvation Army is often the first response organization at the scene of an emergency/disaster and is usually the last to leave. The Salvation Army, in cooperation with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and state and local governments, provides food, shelter, counseling and other services in an emergency or disaster.
