Michael Moonbird and Victoria Lyons founded Bad Dog Rediscovers America in 1997 with a new vision of what an after-school youth arts program should be. It has become a haven for young people to experience their fullest potential and to express unlimited creativity. Bad Dog works with youth from diverse areas of our community who are seeking to express themselves creatively. Long term involvement is a key component of Bad Dog's philosophy. Encouraging a long term committment from our families allows staff to get to know each young person and their abilities, thus making it possible to provide individualized attention to their progress. Building trusting relationships and consistency in the lives of children and teens is an essential foundation for future success. Bad Dog Students are involved in a diversity of art projects utilizing all aspects of the fine arts, such as: Drawing, Painting, Sculpture, Architecture, Creative Writing, Multimedia, Dance and Theater.
Mission Statement
Bad Dog's mission is to open young minds and hearts...to imagine, to dare, to create...through innovative programs and projects using the creative arts.
