Wonderful organization with a great mission to provide equine therapy for all ages. Their volunteer opportunities are well organized, staff are encouraging and verbally grateful to volunteers, and the added bonus is the therapeutic benefits for the volunteer as well. Volunteer work is in a horse arena where long pants, comfortable T-shirts and boots or good fitting tennis shoes are highly recommended. Cold water bottles and a refillable water dispenser is available for volunteers. I recommend using a thermal canteen or refillable water bottle. This is a full time working horse ranch so you may get a little dusty sometimes. I grew up on farms and around livestock so it doesn’t bother me but I do want to point it out to those that have never been around that type of atmosphere. This is by far one of the best volunteer experiences I’ve had in my 26+ years of volunteering and I am thankful that I have found a rewarding organization to be a part of.

Silver Lining is an amazing organization. Seeing the transformation, within minutes, of a challenged individual from fear to joy is incredible. Amanda Adams has amazing patience, skill, and knowledge, not only of horses, but of the clients she works with. And learning about, and working with the horses is a wonderful payback! It is a wonderful team effort.

Silver Lining changes people's lives through interaction with that most noble and honest of beings, the horse!
