Aeon, formerly Central Community Housing Trust, is an award-winning nonprofit provider of high-quality apartments and town homes for the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area, and serves more than 2,700 people annually.

Established in 1986, Aeon currently provides 1,620 units of quality, affordable housing. Aeon's mission is to create and sustain quality affordable housing that strengthens lives and communities.

• Renovating and building housing with a strong emphasis on quality and community participation.
• Working with expert property management companies that provide day-to-day management.
• Supporting successful tenancy by offering workshops on budgeting and housekeeping and connecting residents with community social services.

Aeon primarily serves individuals and families earning low incomes. Special populations include homeless youth, homeless adults, and homeless adults seeking a sober community.

In 2006, Aeon residents:

• Consisted of 2,578 people, 20% of whom were 19 years old or younger.

• Were 36% African-American, 27% African immigrants, 25% Caucasian, 3% Asian/Pacific Islanders, 2% Latino/Hispanic, 1% Native American, and 6% unknown/other.

• Earned a median household income of $14,510.
