The Breast Buddy Program is a multi-faceted breast care program that provides Survivor-Patient mentoring throughout the diagnosis, treatment and recovery continuum. Each Breast Buddy volunteer is a survivor, trained to inform and support breast cancer patients.
Mission Statement
To provide breast cancer patients with the knowledge and tools necessary to facilitate confident and informed decisions regarding their treatment options. To provide patients from all socioeconomic backrounds rapid access to state-of-the-art support and up-to-date information about breast health and breast cancer. To provide ongoing peer support for newly diagnosed breast cancer patients. To educate patients how to partner with their health care team in order to receive the comprehensive care and support that they need. To work with the health care community on complex issues related to diagnosing and treatong breast cancer patients in order to establish benchmarks of care.
