Mission Statement

Our mission is to increase public awareness of women overcoming abuse through the creation and distribution of film and video.

Description

We have completed 7 films related to domestic violence. In six of the films survivors share their stories to serve as models for domestic violence victims. Our films are available to stream on-line through our website www.hv-ps.org to increase public awareness and to help women on their journeys to overcome abuse. Our seventh film "Through The Door" shows how movement and meditation can be part of the healing process for domestic violence victims. Our films have been included in film festivals in Phoenix, Albuquerque, Santa Fe, Jersey City, Philadelphia, and Detroit.

I am a survivor of mental abuse in a marriage of 31 years and in a cult-like religion of 26 yrs. I have recently written a book, published by a large Christian publisher, "I Didn't Come Here to Lose" and it is my hope that I can help others not only rise out of abuse, but heal and be able to go on with greater joy in their lives. The healing process I went thru, can save anyone and it all begins within ourselves. I would like to meet with a community leader in my area, Santa Fe, NM, and find out how I can present my story.
